Licenciado en psicología por la London South Bank University, con matrícula de honor. En estos años exploraba y profundizaba mi interés y amor para el YOGA. Me instalé en Madrid en el 2007 con el objetivo de profundizar mi formación como terapeuta y profesor de Yoga. En diciembre 2011 terminé el postgrado en Nutrición por la Universidad de Valencia desarrollando un interés profundo en las enfermedades inflamatorias intestinales (al haber sufrido de colitis ulcerosas durante años y siendo yo mismo celiaco) y en el desarrollo de una nutrición saludable como técnica de activación de mecanismos de auto sanación. Creo firmemente en la promoción de una sola salud, la que cada ser humano puede sostener y desarrollar encontrando la fuerza en sí mismo y en el apoyo de un entorno que le valore y respete. Mi formación e intereses se dirigen cada día con más intensidad hacia un concepto de salud integral de la persona, enraizado en la práctica del Yoga, en la nutrición natural y en otras terapias y técnicas de crecimiento y desarrollo (Psicoterapia Narrativa, Yoga, Reiki, Acupuntura, Conciencia corporal). • Actualmente gestiono un Centro terapéutico y de yoga en Lavapies, Madrid (Calle Mira el Sol 1, 28012, Madrid). Mi deseo actual es dar más amplio respiro y visibilidad al abanico de posibilidades complementarias enraizadas en el yoga y otras terapias para sobrellevar una diagnosis de EII y retomar una vida activa y plena. Yoga retreat in Chandigarh

Here is our plan to keep you connected to yoga and Indian tradition , a plan shared first hand by the hearts of two great friends: Ayesha and Hugo ❤️ (@Yog amore):

-visiting the beauties of one of the capitals of modern India : Chandigarh, Le Courbusier designed city of modern India;

– nourish yourself with the warmth and colors of their Indian household right in the heart of Chandigarh;

– tasting delicious and organic homemade Indian foods and refreshments;

– staying connected with two morning yoga asana workshops in the beautiful Iyengar yoga shala;

– relaxing, connecting and taking time to be with your self , with your friends and meet new ones!

19:30 Indian welcoming ceremony and dinner;

Saturday, 6th of April

8:00-10:00 am Yoga asana workshop

All day free to visit the city, enjoy its beauty!

(Breakfast, lunch will be provided)

19:00 Aperitive with Indian traditional music (folk, kirtan), dinner and chill out time

Sunday, 7th of April

8:00-10:00 am Yoga asana workshop

Indian cuisine class : we will learn how to prepare few traditional dishes and then EAT IT! Easy, no?? And Yummmyyy 🤤🤤🤤🤤

Afternoon free to visit the city

19:00 Closing evening (we decide together the best way to wrap up a beautiful weekend) ❤️

New moon and the emotional yogui

How long do we engage with people and situations that do not touch our emotional chords?

Yoga and emotions always go hand in hand. No matter how technical and biomechanical your practice can be (or pretend to be) acting out of emotional ignorance will not make you happy.

Possibly you will become even more miserable despite your amazing handstand (which by the way is a very energizing and uplifting asana 😍).

New moon has always influence our emotions and has a strong impact on how our minds and bodies respond to it, therefore it MUST BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT.

Just as an example, if you accept for a momento that new moon is a call for introspection, gentle flows, feminine energy with deep and conscious breath, time to observe our inner world in the asanas …..how would your body respond if you drop in a power yoga practice with all rooting standing asanas, jumps, core excercises and mad backbends asanas?

Through yoga self practice and self study (and of course inspiring teachers and schools …but we encourage you to wisely spend most of your time with self practice rather than looking for them…) we can start awakening our understanding of three core aspects related to emotions and yoga.

THE EMOTIONAL SELF (AWARENESS):

It is a sort of emotional identity. A certain predisposition to vibrate, resonate to life, people and situation. It concerns on our typical approach to learning and making sense of the world. When it comes to yoga practice that might generate an impulse to develop preferences (Asthanga, Iyengar, Kundalini, Etc ). There is no limitation to it or rights or wrongs.

We can only encourage you to discover as much as possible of your emotional self, become aware of its potential but also limitations (what you lose when you blindly stick to things thinking they are the “correct ones”..).

As a general rule…understand your emotional

Self to integrate it in your daily practice and possibly transcend it so that it does not become a cage.

THE EMOTIONAL CONTEXT (INTELLIGENCE)

What emotional load is conveyed by a situation and the people involved in it ? How does it make me feel? And how can I adjust to it and being open in expressing myself, my views, my feelings and values ?

The emotional moment must always be accounted for when you practice. So you can fully live the present and allow the energy conveyed by a situation to move freely within your body, activate all the possible learning responses to it, and safely move back to a more healthy and balanced Emotional Self.

If I struggled to deal or understand a situation “emotionally relevant”, which asana, sequence, yoga practice, yoga style will best help me to deal with it ?

The spectrum here is as broad and rich as the universe itself 🤗 But for the purpose of this post, we highlight the moon phases and how they can impact us.

New moon is certainly a special emotional moment. It is a call for more introspective asanas and sequences (Yin yoga), perhaps even a call to rest deeply, meditate or engage in auspicious rituals and devotional chantings, anything that might help us in creating spaces for silence where we allow intuition and creativity to better express themselves so that new cycles can be opened (again with gratitude and auspicious abundance 🙏🏻).

EMOTIONAL DISTRESS AND DISRUPTION (COPING STRATEGIES)

Whether continuous and prolonged, or sudden and violent, emotions can harm us, sicken us affecting the quality of our lives.

The more we practice yoga with honesty and devotion to developing the previous points (emotional awareness and intelligence) the more likely we are to avoid emotional blockages and distress, and to overcome more rapidly and effectively emotional traumas.

I really hope this post can encourage you to abandone PASSIVE APPROACHES TO YOGA PRACTICE (and life), to pursue a better understanding of your “EMOTIONAL YOGA” during self practice and to keep your emotional eye open wisely all the time!
